This is one of the most common questions — especially from people who’ve had a nose augmentation but are now thinking about having the implant removed, whether due to dissatisfaction with the shape, implant shifting, or safety concerns.
The answer: “It won’t be 100% the same.”
However, your nose will return as close as possible to its original shape — depending on several factors such as:
-
How long you’ve had the implant
→ If it’s been less than a year, the nasal tissues usually haven’t changed much.
→ But if it’s been several years, the tissue may have stretched slightly, making the nose appear flatter or looser after removal. -
The size and shape of the silicone used
→ Larger or higher implants can thin and stretch the nasal skin. After removal, the nose may not fully return to its pre-augmentation appearance. -
Post-removal care
→ After surgery, apply cold compresses, get plenty of rest, and avoid pressing or squeezing the nose. This helps the tissue contract and heal properly.

What happens after removing silicone?
-
Mild swelling and bruising are common in the first few weeks.
-
The nose may look flat or oddly swollen for 1–2 months.
-
Over time, the tissue will gradually shrink and reshape naturally.
-
The near-final contour is typically visible around 3–6 months post-surgery.
Summary
Your nose won’t return exactly to its original state,
but it can look very close to natural, especially if the procedure is done by an experienced surgeon and followed by proper aftercare.
