1) Abnormal swelling that lasts longer than 2 weeks
Normally, swelling after rhinoplasty should gradually improve.
But if the swelling persists or becomes more severe after 2 weeks, it may indicate inflammation or infection, which requires immediate medical evaluation.
2) Pain along with swelling around the nose
Increasing pain accompanied by swelling may suggest an internal infection either inside the nasal cavity or at the surgical site.
This is one of the key risk factors that can lead to tissue necrosis.
3) Large inflamed acne on the nasal tip
Developing a large cystic pimple or severe inflammatory acne on the nasal tip can indicate underlying skin inflammation.
If this occurs shortly after rhinoplasty, you should see a doctor promptly to prevent the infection from spreading.
4) Nasal tip turns dark red or paler than usual
Changes in skin color—such as dark red, pale, or purple—are signs of poor blood circulation in the nasal tip.
This often results from inflammation or excessive pressure from the implant pressing against the skin.
5) Nasal bridge becomes thin or the implant becomes visible / Nasal tip becomes indented
If you notice that:

The nasal tip develops an indentation due to scar tissue and pressure from the implant
These are serious warning signs that may lead to implant extrusion, one of the most severe complications after rhinoplasty.
